Final Project Image

The Final Project

For the final project, I started with this graphic for the background.

First, I removed everything but the main logo. I then turned the inside part transparent. This allowed me to put the pics I would use for the collage inside of it and not have to form the shape of the logo.

I then choose pics to fill the inside of the letters. The pics are used were of the city sky line and various buildings.

For the inside of the main logo, I used pics of players like this one.

Finally, after hours of work, the collage is almost complete.

I then took the inside of the Bull face and created a separate layer.

I then blend this layer with the main image and added a bevel and emboss effect. The final result is the picture below.
(since I converted it into a jpeg it loses some of the effect)

The final project meets the my proposal because I created a collage of images to create the Bulls logo. I only used pics of the city of Chicago for the lettering (except for Benny the Bull flying in the letter B because I thought it looked cool). Pics of players were used to fill the inside of the logo.
The image is a high resolution raster graphic.

I think it would look best as a standard size sticker (I think 4x4) or possibly a small poster. I only used Adobe photoshop to edit every pic and create layers. There are probably around 40 layers I used in the final project.

The main tools I used in photoshop were, magic wand, quick selection and selection. I used these tools to crop the pics into the shapes that would fit together. I also used pics that matched the color scheme of the Bull logo. The horns are red so I chose a red pic for both horns. I also used lighter pics for the white parts of the horn.

Overall, I enjoyed creating the collage. It was a lot more difficult and more work than I thought it would be. The results were well worth it. The logo not only represents the team, but also the city of Chicago.

Adobe After Effects

This skateboarding video was edited with Above After Effects. The camera angles, blue streak effects, and slow motion effect, all make the video look amazing. I really like how the back ground was made to look like outer space.

Egyptian Artifacts

I've always been drawn to Egyptian art. I think it is amazing the amount of detail and time that was devoted to completing projects like the one above. To think that artists spent all their life designing and creating teams for tombs, that no one was suppose to see.

Here is an article with a great slide show. The pics are from the items inside of the Egyptian museum. Right now the museum is empty as tourist stay away from it because of the protests going on.

"The Bean"

Here is a great article describing the first time experience seeing "The Bean" in Chicago's Millennium Park. Artist Anish Kapoor designed this sculpture titled "Cloud Gate." It became known as "The Bean" because of it's bean like appearance.

I've visited Millennium Park many times and walking under and around "The Bean" is a very cool experience. Next time you're visiting Chicago I would recommend you check it out!

Final Project Progress

This is the image I am using for the shape of collage I am creating. I am using the various pictures to fill the inside of the Bulls logo and the words Chicago Bulls.

For the lettering, I am using pics of the city like this pic from navy pier (taken from my phone last month).

For the inside of the logo, I will be using pics of current and former Bulls players like the one below.

Should the Twin Towers be rebuilt?

In 2005, Trump proposed rebuilding the Twin Towers and came up with a mock of how it would look. He kept the overall look of the towers and improved on the design. The new Twin Towers would  be 100 feet taller and strong enough to withstand terrorist attacks that brought down original Twin Towers. This proposed project did not happen as a memorial was build in the spot where the Twin Towers once stood.
